Responsible Down Standard

One sustainability certification that we are particularly proud of is the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). The RDS is a global standard for the traceability, sourcing, and processing of down and feathers used in outdoor and fashion products. It ensures that the down used in our products comes from birds that have been treated humanely and that their welfare has been protected at all times.

To ensure that our products meet the RDS standard, we work closely with DownTek, a leading provider of RDS-certified down. DownTek is committed to sourcing down and feathers from ethical, humane sources and has a robust traceability system in place to ensure that every feather can be traced back to the farm where it originated. By working with DownTek, we can ensure that our products are made with down that has been responsibly sourced and processed.

Global Organic Textile Standard

Another important certification that some of our production partners have earned is the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The GOTS is the leading standard for organic textiles, covering the entire supply chain of organic fibers from harvesting to final production. It requires that organic fibers be grown using environmentally and socially responsible methods, and that the entire production process, from spinning and weaving to finishing, meets strict environmental and labor standards.

Working with production partners who are GOTS-certified helps us to ensure that the textiles used in our products are produced in an environmentally and socially responsible way. It also allows us to offer our customers products that are made with organic fibers, which have a lower environmental impact than conventionally grown fibers.

In addition to the GOTS, our production partners are also committed to other sustainability and ethical standards, such as the Bluesign system, which promotes responsible use of resources in the textile industry, and the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which ensures that textiles are free from harmful substances. To meet the RWS standard, wool producers must adhere to strict guidelines covering everything from animal welfare to land management practices.

At ZAJO, we are committed to using wool that is produced in a responsible and sustainable way, which is why we work exclusively with Suedwolle Group, a leading provider of RWS-certified wool. Suedwolle Group is committed to sustainability and ethical practices throughout the entire production process, from the care of the sheep to the processing of the wool. By working with Suedwolle Group, we are able to access their high-quality, RWS-certified wool and ensure that our products are made with wool that has been responsibly sourced.
