Our Steyr hiking shorts have undergone a significant change!

Our durable Steyr hiking shorts have always been popular with you. This is despite a strong rival in the form of the Magnet Zip Off Pants, which are classic hiking trousers that can be cut down to shorts.

The high quality and extremely durable material offered superior abrasion protection, the addition of elastane made the shorts comfortable and able to adapt to the movement of its wearer. There were YKK zippers on the pockets and crotch, offering the highest standard in its category, and the shorts combined well with our colourful Argon Belt, allowing you to customise the shorts to your exact taste.

And although it's a bit of a paradox given the smaller footprint of the material, the Steyr Shorts hiking shorts are simply all about the pockets and have more of them than any of the trousers in our range - two side pockets and two zipped thigh pockets offered plenty of room for all the essential bits and bobs that no hike can do without.

Steyr Shorts in a new look

The Steyr Shorts have earned high credit among our customers for their quality, so there weren't too many reasons to change them. A well-fitting cut, efficient wicking of sweat and moisture, the ability to dry really quickly, protection from harmful UV rays, all at a relatively lightweight that won't weigh its wearer down unnecessarily on mountain wanderings.

However, the Steyr Shorts had their own design specifics on which opinions differed - the bold contrast stitching gave them a specific, technical look that you either loved or you didn't. The red Steyr Shorts were complemented by dark blue stitching, and the navy Steyr Shorts on the other hand had bold, orange stitching.

In our quest to clean up the lines, after careful consideration and research, we decided that the Steyr shorts deserved a facelift. We stitched the dark blue shorts, currently in the Navy shade, with high-quality threads of the same color and this slight modification made a huge difference in the overall design. We replaced the red with Sahara, which is more subtle, more "chic" and playfully combinable with virtually anything, and the threads used are also tone-on-tone.

We're thrilled with the change and firmly believe that you'll love the new Steyr shorts too.

Still the ideal choice for the mountains

The Steyr shorts have changed visually and when we first saw them in person, they were almost indistinguishable from typical urban shorts. And while visually they're certainly not lost in the city, don't be fooled - they're still first and foremost a pair of shorts packed with premium performance, ready to withstand high altitudes and tough mountain terrain, made from materials that have been proven by years of experience.

The fact that they'll make you look smart and good at the mountain hut is just a nice bonus.
